Twas the night before...uhh New Years?

Ok, so sorry it's been such a long time! I have been very busy here at home, and so has Garren:)
I have started bartending part-time at the same restaurant I was serving at. I am enjoying every minute of it! I love being able to talk to people while they are eating and creating my own "regulars". I have been working a lot since I am not in school right now. It is hard having the holiday season with no school and no Garren. Gives me too much time to think! So I asked my boss to "up" my schedule. So until January 11th when I start back, I am an offical workaholic:) I finally had a few minutes of time today to see the new Twilight movie with Melody and bean. It was great! I am also finally cleaning both our trucks, my room and my computer...it is so slow!
Now to Garren...I know that's why you read! He has started yet another new job. For about a week and a half he was working outside the wire. (that's like the safety fence. In is on base and safer. Out is in the actual warzone). He enjoyed it at first, but I think it was a little too much for him, especially having no weapon! Thankfully he is back inside and on base again. He is now doing logistic type work (just like his daddy!) And enjoying every minute of it! He has been gone for 122 days, and should be home in about a month and a half! HOORAY!! Ill put a few pics on here, but I dont have many!

A LONG SEPERATION

SO BEING IN IRAQ FOR ALMOST 4 MONTHS AND AWAY FROM FAMILY AND FRIENDS IS HARD. BUT TO BE AWAY FROM ERYN IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE HARDEST THINGS TO DO. THANK GOD FOR SKYPE, I AT LEAST GET TO TALK TO HER AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. I WILL BE COMING HOME SOMETIME IN FEBRUARY FOR A WEEK OR SO AND THEN ILL BE RIGHT BACK OVER HERE SUCKING UP DUST. I THINK ERYN IS THE STRONGER ONE OF THIS ENTIRE DEPLOYMENT FOR THE FACT THAT SHE HAS TIME TO THINK OF US NOT BEING TOGETHER AND PUSHES THROUGH HER DAY, I ON THE OTHER HAND STAY SO BUSY UNTIL I GET HOME AFTER THE GYM AND WORK THAT I DONT THINK ABOUT IT. I HAVE HEARD A LOT OF COUNTRY SONGS THAT REMIND ME OF OUR FUN TIMES TOGETHER, AND CANT WAIT TILL R&R TO SPEND SOME REAL QUALITIY TIME TOGHETHER AND GO RUN AWAY FOR A WEEKEND OR SOMETHING. THIS ADVENTURE THAT I AM ON RIGHT NOW, WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE IF ME AND ERYN HAD NEVER MET. FOR MOST OF YOU THAT KNOW ME AND HAVE KNOWN ME FOR A WHILE, I WASNT ALWAYS THE KINDEST OF HEART OR THE MOST RESPECTED PERSON. BEING WITH ERYN FOR ALMOST 6 YEARS HAS DEFENTILY CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER, AND I SEE THINGS A LOT DIFFERENT NOW. I LOVE ERYN SO MUCH AND I ALSO MISS HER MAYBE EVEN MORE THAN SHE MISSES ME. ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS WHEN YOU HAVE SOMETHING GREAT DONT LET IT GET AWAY, HOLD ON TO THAT SPECIAL PERSON AND DO WHAT YOU CAN TO MAKE THEM AS HAPPY AS POSSIBLE. I LOVE YOU ERYN B MILLER(COMSTOCK)

100 days and counting

Tomorrow, December 8th, Garren has been gone for 100 days! I can't believe how long it has been. Some days, it completely feels like over a year since I've seen him...and others...I feel like we had dinner last week! Weird huh? Well, I have my last final tomorrow (woohoo!) I'm so glad to be done with this semester. It was truely a test of dedication that's for sure! No wonder so many people drop out of nursing school!
So I know most of you want to hear how Garren is. And he is good! Working out everyday and trying to spend some free time relaxing with his friend Brandon. He just got his dually license. He is working on getting one to drive the big cranes also, so we know he's having fun doing that!
He decided which days he is taking off for Christmas, and actually chose Christmas Day as one of them:) We will be able to open gifts together and spend time "together"! (on skype that is...and thank goodness for skype!)
Otherwise all is well. I'm ready to relax for a month before school starts again and hopefully get in some much needed cleaning and organization! I feel like I haven't done anything since August!
Here's just a few pics...from a little place called Iraq...

Our Story

So on most of my friends blogs, they have a little about themselves, and their story.
Our story begins about 6 years ago. We met in 10th grade literature at North Cobb High School. He was a senior and I was a sophomore. Most of you know, we began talking for a friend of mine...needless to say...it didn't work out for them:)So we began dating the summer of '04. And from there...it was just us. We officially became a couple on July 16, 2004 (which is a date we made up, since we have no idea when we became "official". You know how it goes in high school!)
And now, we are old! Garren has owned his own concrete company. Pouring, staining and creating are all in his line of work. He does make some really nice stuff, if I do say so myself! He is now in Iraq serving as a civilian contractor for KBR. He is loving every minute of it. I often hear him say, if it wasn't for me, he would stay over there as long as they would let him. But, he will only serve 2 years, for now. He left August 31. I will have that be known as probably the worst day of my life so far. I never knew it would be so hard to let him go...just watching him walk away. My heart went into the Atlanta Airport that day, and I left it there. Well a week after that, I got a surprise phone call. Garren was headed to Dubai, and he had a layover...IN ATLANTA! So we had our very last dinner together. It was only an hour or so visit, but I needed it more than I knew. So now he's gone, and I'm here. People say I am holding up amazing, but that's only what they see. I am not going to get upset everyday, he needs me to be strong here and support him while he's away.
So now my story! I got accepted into the Kennesaw State University Wellstar School of Nursing! Such a hard school to get into, and I am very proud of myself! I have almost (in one week!) completed my first semester! Now just four more to go! I absolutely love being in the hospital and learning to help others. You guys know I'm a caregiver by nature, so this is definitely my niche in life. I have also started a new job at a restaurant literally 30 seconds from my house. Guston's. I serve and bartend there. Which I am also enjoying.
Every day gets a little easier as time goes on, and then that one day hits me, he's really not here. But I'm surviving, and so is he. We are strong. Always have been.
One day, not so far away,(February), I'll get one more hug...and life will go on for Eryn and Garren:)
