Were Engaged :)

We're getting married!!! On Thursday, February 11, 2010...Garren asked me to be his wife.
Here's our newest story...
All day I had known Garren was up to something. He finally told me around 3 that afternoon that I needed to wear the new dress I had been told to buy, and to be ready by 6oclock. At 6:15 his mom walked in my house and told me it was time to go. When I got in the car, my dad was there already! We were all dressed up. We arrived at Maggiano's. A beautiful italian restaurant that I had never been to. When I walked in, my mom was there as well as Garren's sister Kinsley and her boyfriend Scott. The guys were all in suits! We had a fabulous dinner and everyone decided they wanted to take pictures by the fountain out front. We all took turns taking pictures and Garren had me stand, sit, stand and go to the other side of him. While I was switching sides he got down on one knee! He said "Eryn, you know how much I love you." By this time, I'm bawling like a baby. He asked me to marry him, and of course I said Yes!! So now, we are planni9ng to get married:) I cant wait to be Mrs. Comstock!

Garren was supposed to write this with me, but he is a little side tracked cleaning his new gun. I guess I can excuse him because he made me the happiest person ever!!

150 days down...

25(ish) to go!!

Garren has been gone 150 days today. Recently, it's been very hard on me. I thought going back to school and getting back into a routine would help, but it sent me the other way. I have been feeling more alone than I did before. I don't want to be anywhere...I just want to be with him. I wonder why I randomly get these feelnigs. Things are going great...I'm enjoying work. I love being in Nursing School. My family and his family are wonderful. I have the greatest friend's I could ever ask for. And I feel bad that recently, it hasn't seemed like enough. I guess I'm wishing for this leave more than I let myself realize.
So school is hard! To say the least. I have clinicals this semester at Kennestone Hospital. I am glad to be closer to home:) Cobb Hospital was quite a drive on that tired afternoon, but I am thankful Hailey shared her bed with me!
Garren is surviving also. I know he is homesick and ready for a break from the sandy life. As many of you have seen in the news they've been taking a lot of hard hits recently. His base has been badly hit many times, and people have been injured and killed. I am so grateful for that phone call I get to let me know it wasn't him. I thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers for us on this adventure.
February is right around the corner! He will be home sometime between the 19th and the 27th. I'm not sure who of you know exactly when, but it is a surprise for me! So if you know, keep his secret:)

Let it Snow, Let it Snow :)

It's been snowing in Atlanta! (or better yet...icing!) We got a free day of school but unfortunately, people still gotta eat. So I worked! While my hill was iced over, my brother and my parents and I sled down on our snow sleds. We've had them since we were kids, and rarely get to use them! It was fun acting young again!
So, I have started into my second semester of Nursing school! And I have to say, it's already so hard! A ton of readings to do, lots of hard tests, and lab. Oh lab. I can now insert a catheter, IV tubing and nasogastric line! I finally feel as though I'm not so much of a tech anymore...and more of a real nurse! This week I have been housesitting for our best friends, Dave and Melody. They are happily enjoying their honeymoon in 85degree Cabo San Lucas! (How jealous are we??!) Just a few days ago, I got two phone calls...first from Iraq, second from Cabo. It was a good day:)
Garren is doing well also! We are still unsure of when he will actually come home. His dates have yet again changed, so I'm just hoping he actually still comes home in February! (And not April!) He has started to look at the internal job postings and is thinking of changing his job. He has done many different jobs since he arrived in Iraq, and he continues to want to learn more! My boy is so busy:) Can't ever stay in one place too long.
For New Years this year, I was sick...boo! But it was ok. Garren called at 1600, his New Years, and at 1200, my New Years! We got to celebrate a little together.
Well, guess it's time for some pictures!
